After their success with the critically acclaimed title Bastion, Supergiant Games is back with a new game called Transistor. If you enjoyed Bastion you will love this game as well.
After a grueling 77 hours of playtime I have finally completed the main story in Rainbow Moon. With such a serious time commitment I went ahead and recorded a longer discussion style review where I break down the game and go in depth. If half an hour is a bit too long for your taste, you can read on below for a shorter written review.
Risk of Rain is hands down one of my top 3 games of 2014. It is a relatively simple platformer with a twist and some roguelike elements thrown in for good measure. There is a vague backstory for those interested but strong gameplay is the focus for this game. In this extended discussion I’ll go over how the game handles difficulty and items as they are truly unique systems.
Rockstar truly did a fantastic job with Max Payne 3. They captured the feeling of the previous two titles developed by Remedy Entertainment and then enhanced the experience with a great story, fantastic gameplay mechanics and good aesthetics. It’s also worth mentioning that the PC release performs exceptionally well unlike Grand Theft Auto IV that preceded it. However not all is perfect in this game as discussed below.
The Evolve alpha test was up this weekend but unfortunately it suffered from strange performance issues making it difficult to play. Read on to check our video and brief write up for the couple hours spent on the Evolve alpha.
After several hours spread across four race seasons, I finally won the World Rally Championship along with finishing first in my WRC2, WRC3 and JWRC seasons. With four full seasons of experience under my belt, I put together a video review which can be found below.
Of course since racing games are one of my favourite genres, I simply could’t help myself but compare it to the next best competitor. Why did I compare WRC 4 to a game that predates it by eight years? Find out in my extra discussion following the video review below.
My long adventure through the Faelands of Amalur have finally come to an end. During my long playthrough I have covered everything from small tasks and side quests to changing fate, saving lives and effectively saving the world.
While some would be satisfied knowing my overall takeaway was generally positive, others would rather enjoy a lengthier review before investing their time in this game. If you wish to know more, read on for a video review and some extended thoughts on the overall game.
At first glance The Cave did not seem particularly impressive but coming from Double Fine should at the very least make it an interesting game. As with most games I went ahead and jumped into it without any prior knowledge of what I was getting into. Luckily for me the overall experience was quite enjoyable, read on to watch and read my overall feelings regarding this adventure, puzzle-platformer based game.
