News this week follows more developments for the next-gen consoles. The PS4 will support chat and online apps without the need for a PS+ subscription. We are still waiting to hear Microsoft’s response to this.
The Xbox One is now said to support self-published games, which is a big change to Microsoft’s previous policy on that matter.
Phil Fish, developer of the critically acclaimed indie game, FEZ, has allegedly left the gaming industry due to significant amounts of flak he has been receiving over his criticisms of the industry. FEZ 2 development has been cancelled.
There is word that a Gran Turismo movie is in the works. No word on the script or overall theme of the movie has been mentioned yet.
CS:GO has raised over $150k through their “Operation Payback” DLC, which consisted of community-made maps that were officially added to the game. Proceeds of the money raised are going to those who created the maps.
